How it works
We pick the anime
Each season is built around one anime we choose. A season is usually 12 episodes, and you join for the whole season.
One episode a week
12 weeks, 12 classes. Each week covers the next episode, so the story keeps you coming back.
Watch in the breaks
During the two 15-minute breaks, you watch the first and second half of the episode on your own Netflix or Crunchyroll account.

“There was this expression, right?” Your senpai goes through the lines you just heard: what they mean, how they feel, and how to use them yourself.

Why anime?
You remember words better when you remember the scene. A line you heard a character say, at a moment you cared about, sticks in a way a vocabulary list never does.
Anime is also full of the Japanese people actually speak: short forms, slang, jokes, emotion. A senpai helps you sort out which of it you can use, and where.

Which anime, when, and how much?
The anime, start date, and price of the first season will be announced when sign-ups open. Email us to hear first.
Do I pay per class?
No. You pay once for the whole season: 12 classes over 12 weeks.
Do I need my own streaming subscription?
Yes. You need your own Netflix or Crunchyroll subscription, depending on where that season’s anime streams in your country. We never stream or share the anime ourselves.
Can I study on my own too?
Yes. Our manga workbooks use the same approach for self-study.
